An ESIA consultant is not engaged by the project proponent or developer to advance their agenda or act as their spokesperson. Rather, the consultant assumes a neutral, professional stance—serving as an intermediary between the proponent, stakeholders, and the Environmental Management Agency. Their role is to offer independent, objective, and unbiased guidance that promotes the sustainable execution of the project. This impartiality is grounded in the consultant’s adherence to a professional code of ethics, to which both the consultancy firm and its registered experts are committed.
