In today’s “The Green Drive” series the international Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) consultant explains the key role of a consultant (1st pillar) to bring together components in an ESIA process such as the,
1. Proponent (developer or project owner),
2. Local community (stakeholders),
3. Government officials (stakeholders) and
4. Regulator (such as the Environmental Management Agency
These are brought together physically and sometimes remotely by the consultant, to discuss and review a project before it is implemented. These pillars at times would not want to see each other but it is the consultant that makes them come together for a common cause. A cause of bringing sustainable projects to life.
